Quality Culture Series
The RCHC QI Department developed the curriculum and teaching tools to convene a series of four two-day training seminars, the Quality Culture Series (QCS), over an eight-month period for executive teams from the health centers (CEOs, COOs and Medical Directors). The first QCS event was held between November 2006 and May 2007 with twelve RCHC health centers participating. With 100% attendance and 100% participation in quality improvement projects at their respective health centers, the series accelerated the spread of clinics' culture of quality.
Teams were provided with laptops and software to produce run-charts, flow-charts and presentations along with other QI tools. Instances of spontaneity spread within health centers and positive QCS evaluations were evident. One executive remarked “You can’t learn PDSA until you do it!”
