Health center hires two new doctors
Petaluma Health Center officials announced Feb. 22 that they have hired two new, full-time physicians, Julia Clark and Maria Ochoa.
Clark is a board-certified obstetrician/gynecologist who recently relocated to California after several years of private practice in New York City, where she trained at Mt. Sinai Hospital and Weill Cornell Medical College. She is particularly interested in health issues within a woman’s life span, including prenatal care, standard screening and menopausal care.
Clark has received teaching awards from residents in training and medical students. Since she moved to California, she has enjoyed bicycling and exploring the countryside.
Ochoa moved to the United States from Argentina, where she served as chief resident in pediatrics for four years. After arriving in the U.S., she worked for two years in a family counseling center with high-risk children and families, and then for three years as chief resident of family medicine at Loma Linda University in Southern California.
When not working, she enjoys spending time with her husband, Martin, and children Ana, 8, and Enrique, 6.
“We’re pleased to add these talented physicians to our 18-member provider staff,” said Kathie Powell, CEO of the Petaluma Health Center. “Their backgrounds and personalities fit our overall philosophy of caring for patients in need.”
