Southwest center elects Carrillo, 26, as board president

SANTA ROSA – The Southwest Community Health Center Board of Directors recently elected 26-year-old Efren Carrillo as president.
Mr. Carrillo, who was elected to serve as president through 2008, is currently the education and government relations manager for Redwood Credit Union.
“As board president I hope to continue pursuing [Southwest’s] vision of providing access to quality health care and related services for the diverse communities in which we live,” he said.
In addition to joining Southwest’s board of directors, Mr. Carrillo serves and volunteers with other local nonprofits, including the City of Santa Rosa Mayor’s Gang Prevention Task Force, the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of Sonoma County, Habitat for Humanity of Sonoma County and Marin Center for Volunteer and Nonprofit Leadership.
Mr. Carrillo graduated from the University of California, Berkeley with a B.S. in environmental economics and policy in 2003. He joined the Southwest Community Health Center Board of Directors in 2006.
Other newly elected board members include First Vice President Yudith Vargas, Second Vice President Liz Camino-Byer, Secretary David Rosas and Treasurer JoAnn Guattery.
